    حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، مُتَّكِئًا عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ عَلَى يَسَارِهِ.

    Jabir ibn Samura said: “I saw Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) leaning on a cushion on his left side.”

    حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: أَلا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ: الإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ، وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قَالَ: وَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا، قَالَ: وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ، أَوْ قَوْلُ الزُّورِ، قَالَ: فَمَا زَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا: لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ.

    ‘Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi Bakra reported that his father Abu Bakra said: “Allah’s Messenger said (Allah bless him and give him peace): ‘Should I tell you about the greatest of the major sins?’ They said: ‘Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah!’ He said: ‘Associating partners with Allah, and recalcitrance against parents.’ Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) sat down, and he was leaning on a support. He added: ‘…and false testimony’ or: ‘false speech.’ Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) went on speaking until we said: ‘If only he would keep silent!”

    حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مُسَاوِرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرُو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، خَطَبَ النَّاسَ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.

    ‘Amr ibn Huraith reported that his father said: “The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) addressed the people while wearing a black turban.”

    حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِذَا اعْتَمَّ، سَدَلَ عِمَامَتَهُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ..

    Ibn ‘Umar said: “When the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) donned a turban, he let his turban hang down between his shoulders.”

    حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَطَبَ النَّاسَ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ دَسْمَاءُ.

    Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) addressed the people while wearing a turban that was dasma’ [marked with traces of oil from his hair].

    حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيْنَا عَائِشَةُ، كِسَاءً مُلَبَّدًا، وَإِزَارًا غَلِيظًا، فَقَالَتْ: قُبِضَ رُوحُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فِي هَذَيْنِ.

    Abu Burda reported that his father said: “’A’isha (may Allah be well pleased with her) brought out to us a tangled garment and a coarse loincloth, then she said: ‘The spirit of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was taken in these two’.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمَّتِي، تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمِّهَا، قَالَ: بَيْنَا أَنَا أَمشِي بِالْمَدِينَةِ، إِذَا إِنْسَانٌ خَلْفِي يَقُولُ: ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَتْقَى وَأَبْقَى فَإِذَا هُوَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا هِيَ بُرْدَةٌ مَلْحَاءُ، قَالَ: أَمَا لَكَ فِيَّ أُسْوَةٌ؟ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا إِزَارُهُ إِلَى نِصْفِ سَاقَيْهِ.

    Al-Ash’ath ibn Sulaim said: “I heard my maternal aunt relate, on the authority of her paternal uncle; ‘While I was walking in Medina, someone behind me said: ‘Raise your loincloth, for that is more pious and conducive to longer wear.’ Lo and behold, he was Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace)’, so I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, it is simply a black garment with white stripes!’ He said: ‘Do you not have an example in me?’ so I looked and noticed that his loincloth was to half his shins’.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَكَانَ يَلْبَسُهُ فِي يَمِينِهِ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَطَرَحَهُ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَقَالَ: لا أَلْبَسُهُ أَبدًا فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ.

    Ibn ‘Umar said: “Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) chose a signet ring of gold, and he used to wear it on his right hand. The people therefore chose signet rings of gold, so he threw it away (Allah bless him and give him peace) and said: ‘I shall never wear it!’ The people therefore threw their signet rings away.”

    حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنِ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ، يَأْتَزِرُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا كَانَتْ إِزْرَةُ صَاحِبِي، يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

    llyas ibn Salama al-Akwa reported that his father said: “‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan used to wear a loincloth reaching the middle parts of his shins, and he said: ‘In this manner was the loincloth of my Companion’, meaning the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace).”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ قَبِيعَةُ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ فِضَّةٍ.

    Anas said: “Ihe pommel of the sword of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was made of silver.”
