    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ.

    Jabir ibn ‘Abdi’llah said: “The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to wear a signet ring on his right hand.”

    حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ، يَعْنِي الرَّجُلَ، بِشِمَالِهِ، أَوْ يَمْشِيَ فِي نَعْلٍ وَاحِدَةٍ.

    Jabir reported: “The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) forbade one (referring to the man) to eat with his left hand, or to walk in a single sandal.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الصَّلتِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ، وَلا إِخَالُهُ إِلا قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ.

    ‘As-Salt ibn ‘Abdi’llah said: “Ibn ‘Abbas used to wear a signet ring on his right hand, without adornment, and he said: ‘Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to wear a signet ring on his right hand’.”

    حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حوَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: إِذَا انْتَعَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالْيَمِينِ، وَإِذَا نَزَعَ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالشِّمَالِ، فَلْتَكُنِ الْيَمِينُ أَوَّلَهُمَا تُنْعَلُ، وَآخِرَهُمَا تُنْزَعُ.

    Abu Huraira said: “The Prophet said (Allah bless him and give him peace): “When one of you puts on sandals, let him begin with the right, and when he takes them off, let him begin with the left, for the right must be the first of them to be put on, and the last of them to be taken off.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيان، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، وَجَعَلَ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ، وَنَقَشَ فِيهِ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ، وَنَهَى أَنْ يَنْقُشَ أَحَدٌ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَقَطَ مِنْ مُعَيْقِيبٍ فِي بِئْرِ أَرِيسٍ.

    Ibn ‘Umar said: “The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) chose a signet ring of silver, and put its stone in the part close to the palm of his hand. On it he engraved: “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,” and he forbade anyone [else] to engrave on it. It is the one that fell from Mu’aiqib into the well of Aris.”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَشْعَثُ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فِي تَرَجُّلِهِ، وَتَنَعُّلِهِ وَطُهُورِهِ.

    ‘A’isha said: “Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) would love to start whatever he could on the right side, in his combing, his footwear and his purification.”

    حَدَّثَنَا قتيبة بن سعيد , حَدَّثَنَا حاتم بن إسماعيل , عن جَعْفَرٍ بن محمد , عن أبيه , قَالَ: كان الحسن والحسين يتختمان في يسارهما.

    Ja’far ibn Muhammad reports that his father said: “Al-Hasan and al-Husain used to wear signet rings on their left hands.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ لِنَعْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قِبَالانِ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ عَقَدَ عَقْدًا وَاحِدًا عُثْمَانُ رضي الله عنه..

    Abu Huraira said: “The sandals of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) had two thongs, as did those of Abu Bakr and ‘Umar (may Allah the Exalted be well pleased with them), and the first to tie a single knot was ‘Uthman (may Allah be well pleased with him).”

    حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ الطَّبَّاعِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: أَنَّهُ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ. قال أبو عيسى: هذا حديث غريب لا نعرفه من حديث سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن أنس عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نحو هذا إلا من هذا الوجه. وروى بعض أصحاب قتادة عن قتادة عن أنس بن مالك عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه كان يتختم في يساره هو حديث لا يصح أيضا.

    Anas ibn Malik said: “He (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to wear a signet ring on his right hand.”

    حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ وَرِقٍ، وَكَانَ فَصُّهُ حَبَشِيًّا.

    Anas ibn Malik said: “The signet ring of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) consisted of silver, and its stone was Abyssinian.”
