    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ شَهِدَ عِنْدِي رِجَالٌ مَرْضِيُّونَ فِيهِمْ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَأَرْضَاهُمْ عِنْدِي عُمَرُ أَنَّ رَ سُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ “‏ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “Good men among whom was ‘Umar
    bin Khattab, and the best of them in my view is ‘Umar, testified
    before me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘There is no
    prayer
    after Fajr until the sun has risen, and there is no prayer
    after the
    ‘Asr until the sun has set.’”

    حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ أَرْسَلَنِي أَمِيرٌ مِنَ الأُمَرَاءِ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ، فِي الاِسْتِسْقَاءِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مَا مَنَعَهُ أَنْ يَسْأَلَنِي، قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ مُتَوَاضِعًا مُتَبَذِّلاً مُتَخَشِّعًا مُتَرَسِّلاً مُتَضَرِّعًا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَمَا يُصَلِّي فِي الْعِيدِ وَلَمْ يَخْطُبْ خُطْبَتَكُمْ هَذِهِ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated from Hisham bin Ishaq bin ‘Abdullah bin Kinanah that
    his
    father said: “One of the chiefs* sent me to Ibn ‘Abbas to ask him
    about the prayer for rain. Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘What kept him from
    asking
    me?’ He said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out
    humbly, walking
    with a humble and moderate gait, imploring, and he
    performed two
    Rak’ah as he used to pray for ‘Eid, but he did not
    give a sermon like
    this sermon of yours.’”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ طَلْقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْبَيْلَمَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ، قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقُلْتُ هَلْ مِنْ سَاعَةٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ أُخْرَى قَالَ ‏ “‏ نَعَمْ. جَوْفُ اللَّيْلِ الأَوْسَطُ. فَصَلِّ مَا بَدَا لَكَ حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الصُّبْحُ. ثُمَّ انْتَهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ، وَمَا دَامَتْ كَأَنَّهَا حَجَفَةٌ حَتَّى تَنْتَشِرَ. ثُمَّ صَلِّ مَا بَدَا لَكَ حَتَّى يَقُومَ الْعَمُودُ عَلَى ظِلِّهِ. ثُمَّ انْتَهِ حَتَّى تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ تُسْجَرُ نِصْفَ النَّهَارِ. ثُمَّ صَلِّ مَا بَدَا لَكَ حَتَّى تُصَلِّيَ الْعَصْرَ. ثُمَّ انْتَهِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ، فَإِنَّهَا تَغْرُبُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَىِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَتَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَىِ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that ‘Amr bin ‘Abasah said: “I came to the Messenger
    of Allah (ﷺ) and said: ‘Is there any time that is more beloved to
    Allah than another?’ He said: ‘Yes, the middle of the night, so
    pray
    as much as you want until dawn comes. Then refrain from praying
    until
    the sun has risen, and as long as it looks like a shield until
    it
    becomes apparent. Then pray as much as you want until a pole
    stands on
    its shadow (i.e., noon), then refrain from praying until it
    has
    crossed the zenith, for Hell is heated up at midday. Then pray as
    much
    as you want until you pray ‘Asr, then refrain from praying
    until the
    sun has set, for it sets between the two horns of Satan and
    it rises
    between the two horns of Satan.’”

    حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمُنْكَدِرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَأَلَ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ الْمُعَطَّلِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ أَنْتَ بِهِ عَالِمٌ وَأَنَا بِهِ جَاهِلٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏”‏ وَمَا هُوَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَلْ مِنْ سَاعَاتِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سَاعَةٌ تُكْرَهُ فِيهَا الصَّلاَةُ قَالَ ‏”‏ نَعَمْ. إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ الصُّبْحَ، فَدَعِ الصَّلاَةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ. فَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ بِقَرْنَىِ الشَّيْطَانِ. ثُمَّ صَلِّ فَالصَّلاَةُ مَحْضُورَةٌ مُتَقَبَّلَةٌ حَتَّى تَسْتَوِيَ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى رَأْسِكَ كَالرُّمْحِ. فَإِذَا كَانَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِكَ كَالرُّمْحِ فَدَعِ الصَّلاَةَ. فَإِنَّ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ تُسْجَرُ فِيهَا جَهَنَّمُ وَتُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُهَا. حَتَّى تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ عَنْ حَاجِبِكَ الأَيْمَنِ. فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَالصَّلاَةُ مَحْضُورَةٌ مُتَقَبَّلَةٌ حَتَّى تُصَلِّيَ الْعَصْرَ. ثُمَّ دَعِ الصَّلاَةَ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “Safwan bin Mu’attal asked
    the
    Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): ‘O Messenger of Allah, I want to ask you
    about something of which you have knowledge and I know nothing.’ He
    said: ‘What is it?’ He said: ‘Is there any time of the night or
    day
    when it is disliked to perform prayer? He said: ‘Yes, when you
    have
    prayed the Subh, then do not pray until the sun has risen, for
    it
    rises between the two horns of Satan. Then pray, for the prayer is
    attended (by the angels) and is acceptable (to Allah) until the sun
    is
    right overhead like a spear. For at that time Hell is heated up
    and
    its gates are opened. (Then refrain from prayer) until the sun
    passes
    the zenith. Then when it has passed the zenith, the prayer is
    attended
    (by the angels) and is acceptable (to Allah) until you pray
    the ‘Asr.
    Then stop praying until the sun has set.’”

    حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ “‏ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَىِ الشَّيْطَانِ أَوْ قَالَ: يَطْلُعُ مَعَهَا قَرْنَا الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا. فَإِذَا كَانَتْ فِي وَسَطِ السَّمَاءِ قَارَنَهَا. فَإِذَا دَلَكَتْ أَوْ قَالَ: زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا. فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا. فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا. فَلاَ تُصَلُّوا هَذِهِ السَّاعَاتِ الثَّلاَثَ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated from Abu ‘Abdullah As-Sunabihi that the Messenger of
    Allah
    (ﷺ) said: “The sun rises between the two horns of Satan” or he
    said “The two horns of Satan rise with it, and when it has risen,
    Satan parts from it. When it is in the middle of the sky he
    accompanies it, then when it has crossed the zenith he parts from it.
    When it is about to set, he accompanies it, and when it has set he
    parts from it. So do no pray at these three times.”

    حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَيْهِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ “‏ يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ لاَ تَمْنَعُوا أَحَدًا طَافَ بِهَذَا الْبَيْتِ وَصَلَّى أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ شَاءَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Jubair bin Mut’im said: “The Messenger of Allah
    (ﷺ) said: ‘O Banu ‘Abd Manaf! Do not prevent anyone from
    circumambulating this House or praying at any time he wants of the
    day
    or night.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ “‏ لَعَلَّكُمْ سَتُدْرِكُونَ أَقْوَامًا يُصَلُّونَ الصَّلاَةَ لِغَيْرِ وَقْتِهَا. فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتُمُوهُمْ فَصَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ لِلْوَقْتِ الَّذِي تَعْرِفُونَ. ثُمَّ صَلُّوا مَعَهُمْ وَاجْعَلُوهَا سُبْحَةً ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said: “The Messenger of
    Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘You may come across people who offer a prayer at
    the wrong time. If you meet them, then perform prayer in your houses
    at the time that you know, then pray with them and make that
    voluntary.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ “‏ صَلِّ الصَّلاَةَ لِوَقْتِهَا. فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ الإِمَامَ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ، وَقَدْ أَحْرَزْتَ صَلاَتَكَ. وَإِلاَّ فَهِيَ نَافِلَةٌ لَكَ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Offer
    prayer
    on time, and if you reached the Imam leading them in prayers
    (on
    time), then perform it with them, and you will be safe with your
    prayer, otherwise it will be voluntary for you.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى، عَنْ أَبِي أُبَىٍّ ابْنِ امْرَأَةِ، عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ يَعْنِي عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ “‏ سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ تَشْغَلُهُمْ أَشْيَاءُ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلاَةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا فَاجْعَلُوا صَلاَتَكُمْ مَعَهُمْ تَطَوُّعًا ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated from ‘Ubadah bin Samit that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There
    will be leaders who will be distracted by matters and they will
    delay
    the prayer until after its proper time. So make your prayer with
    them
    voluntary.”

    حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الضَّبِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْلَى، زُنْبُورٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ فِي الْفَجْرِ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Umm Salamah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
    was
    forbidden to recite Qunut in Fajr.”
