    حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، مَوْلَى الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَكَبَّرَ ثُمَّ أَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَمَكَثُوا ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ فَاغْتَسَلَ وَكَانَ رَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ مَاءً فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ ‏ “‏ إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ جُنُبًا. وَإِنِّي نَسِيتُ حَتَّى قُمْتُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) came out
    to
    pray and said the Takbir, then he gestured to them to wait. He went
    and took a bath, and his head was dripping with water while he led
    them in prayer. When he finished he said: ‘I came out to you in a
    state of sexual impurity, and I forgot until I had started to pray.’”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ “‏ مَنْ أَصَابَهُ قَىْءٌ أَوْ رُعَافٌ أَوْ قَلَسٌ أَوْ مَذْىٌ، فَلْيَنْصَرِفْ، فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ. ثُمَّ لْيَبْنِ عَلَى صَلاَتِهِ، وَهُوَ فِي ذَلِكَ لاَ يَتَكَلَّمُ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
    said:
    ‘Whoever vomits, has a nosebleed, belches, or emits prostatic
    fluid, should stop praying; perform ablution, then resume his prayer,
    and while he is in that state he should not speak.”

    حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ شَبَّةَ بْنِ عَبِيدَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏ “‏ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَأَحْدَثَ، فَلْيُمْسِكْ عَلَى أَنْفِهِ، ثُمَّ لْيَنْصَرِفْ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ نَحْوَهُ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When
    anyone
    of you performs prayer and commits Hadath, (passing wind) let
    him
    take hold of his nose, then leave.”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَابْنُ، فُضَيْلٍ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ بُحَيْنَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَامَ فِي ثِنْتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ نَسِيَ الْجُلُوسَ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated from ‘Abdur-Rahman Al-A’raj that Ibn Buhainah told
    him
    that the Prophet (ﷺ) stood up in the second Rak’ah of Zuhr and
    forgot to sit. When he had finished his prayer, and before he said
    the
    Salam, he performed the two prostrations for forgetfulness (Sahw)
    and
    said the Salam.

    حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ كَانَ بِي النَّاصُورُ فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ ‏ “‏ صَلِّ قَائِمًا. فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَقَاعِدًا. فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ، فَعَلَى جَنْبٍ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that ‘Imran bin Husain said: “I suffered from Nasur*
    and
    I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about prayer. He said: ‘Perform prayer
    standing; if you cannot, then sitting; and if you cannot then while
    lying on your side.’”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ “‏ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَلَمْ يَسْتَتِمَّ قَائِمًا فَلْيَجْلِسْ فَإِذَا اسْتَتَمَّ قَائِمًا فَلاَ يَجْلِسْ وَيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Mughirah bin Shu’bah said: “The Messenger of
    Allah
    (ﷺ) said: ‘If anyone of you stands after two Rak’ah, if he has
    not yet stood up fully, let him sit down again, but if he has stood
    up
    fully, then let him not sit down, and let him perform two
    prostrations
    for forgetfulness (Sahw).’”

    حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَيَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ الأَزْرَقُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ صَلَّى جَالِسًا عَلَى يَمِينِهِ وَهُوَ وَجِعٌ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Wa’il bin Hujr said: “I saw the Prophet (ﷺ)
    performing prayer while sitting on his right side when he was sick.”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُوسُفَ الرَّقِّيُّ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الصَّيْدَلاَنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏ “‏ إِذَا شَكَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الثِّنْتَيْنِ وَالْوَاحِدَةِ فَلْيَجْعَلْهَا وَاحِدَةً وَإِذَا شَكَّ فِي الثِّنْتَيْنِ وَالثَّلاَثِ فَلْيَجْعَلْهَا ثِنْتَيْنِ وَإِذَا شَكَّ فِي الثَّلاَثِ وَالأَرْبَعِ فَلْيَجْعَلْهَا ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ لْيُتِمَّ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْوَهْمُ فِي الزِّيَادَةِ ثُمَّ يَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ‏” ‏ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf said: “I heard the
    Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘If anyone of you is uncertain as to
    whether he has prayed one or two Rak’ah, let him assume it is one.
    If
    he is uncertain as to whether he has prayed two or three, let him
    assume it is two. If he is uncertain as to whether he has prayed
    three
    or four, let him assume it is three. Then let him complete what
    is
    left of his prayer, so that the doubt will be about what is more.
    Then
    let him prostrate twice while he is sitting, before the Taslim
    (saying
    the Salam).’”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ وَالَّذِي ذَهَبَ بِنَفْسِهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ مَا مَاتَ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلاَتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْهِ الْعَمَلَ الصَّالِحَ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Umm Salamah said: ‘By the One Who took his soul
    (i.e., the soul of the Prophet (ﷺ)), he did not die until he
    offered
    most of his prayers sitting down. And the dearest of the
    actions to
    him was the righteous action that the person does
    regularly, even if
    it were a little.”

    حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَابْنِ، عُمَرَ قَالاَ سَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ صَلاَةَ السَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا تَمَامٌ غَيْرُ قَصْرٍ وَالْوِتْرُ فِي السَّفَرِ سُنَّةٌ ‏.‏

    It was
    narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas and Ibn ‘Umar said: “The Messenger of
    Allah (ﷺ) prescribed two Rak’ah of prayer when traveling; they
    are
    complete and are not shortened. And Witr when traveling is
    Sunnah.”
