Chapter: The opening of the Prayer

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ خَرَجَ عُمَرُ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ بِأَىِّ شَىْءٍ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقْرَأُ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ؟ قَالَ بِـ ‏{ق}‏ وَاقْتَرَبَتْ ‏.‏

It was
narrated that ‘Ubaidullah bin ‘Abdullah said: “Umar went out
on
the day of ‘Eid and sent word to Abu Waqid Al-Laithi asking what
the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite on this day. He said: ‘Qaf [Qaf
(50)]
and ‘Iqtarabat’.” [Al-Qamar (54)]
