باب أَضَاحِيِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
Chapter: The sacrifices of the Messenger of Allah (saws)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا فَقَسَمَهَا عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ فَذَكَرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ “ ضَحِّ بِهِ أَنْتَ ” .
It was
narrated from ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani that the Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ) gave him some sheep, and he distributed them among his
Companions to be sacrificed. There remained an ‘Atud.* He mentioned
that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: “You sacrifice it
yourself.”
