    وَعَنْ سَلْمَانَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { لَقَدْ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم – “أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ اَلْقِبْلَةَ بِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ, أَوْ أَنْ نَسْتَنْجِيَ بِالْيَمِينِ, أَوْ أَنْ نَسْتَنْجِيَ بِأَقَلَّ مِنْ ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ, أَوْ أَنْ نَسْتَنْجِيَ بِرَجِيعٍ أَوْ عَظْمٍ” } رَوَاهُ مُسْلِم ٌ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه مسلم (262) قيل لسلمان: قد علمكم نبيكم صلى الله عليه وسلم كل شيء حتى الخراءة. قال: أجل. لقد نهانا… الحديث.

    Narrated Salman (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) forbade us to face the Qiblah when defecating or urinating, or to clean ourselves using the right hand, or to clean ourselves with less than three stones, or to clean ourselves with dung or a bone [Reported by Muslim].

    وَلِلسَّبْعَةِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ – رضى الله عنه – { لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا اَلْقِبْلَةَ بِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ, وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا } 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (144 و 394)، ومسلم (264)، وأبو داود (9)، والنسائي (12-23)، الترمذي (8)، وابن ماجه (318)، وأحمد (5 /414 و 416 و 417 و 421).

    Narrated Abu Ayub (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) “Neither face nor turn your back to the Qiblah while defecating or urinating, but turn towards the east or the west”. [Reported by the As-Sab’a]

    وَأَصْلُهُ فِي اَلصَّحِيحَيْنِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْد ٍ 1 . 1 – صحيح. ولفظه: شكي إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: الرجل يخيل إليه أن يجد الشيء في الصلاة؟ قال: “لا ينصرف حتى سمع صوتا، أو يجد ريحا”. البخاري (137)، ومسلم (361).

    It is originally from the Sahihain of Bukhari and Muslim as the Hadith narrated by ‘Abdullah bin Zaid.

    وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا; أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ: { مَنْ أَتَى اَلْغَائِطَ فَلْيَسْتَتِرْ } رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد َ 1 . 1 – ضعيف. ووهم الحافظ في نسبته لعائشة رضي الله عنها، وإنما الحديث لأبي هريرة عند أبي داود (35).

    Narrated ‘Aisha (rad): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “If anyone goes to relive himself, he should conceal himself”. [Reported by Abu Da’ud].

    وَعَنْهَا; { أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ اَلْغَائِطِ قَالَ: “غُفْرَانَكَ” } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ. وَصَحَّحَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ, وَالْحَاكِم ُ 1 . 1 – حسن. رواه أبو داود (30)، والترمذي (7)، وابن ماجه (300)، والنسائي في “عمل اليوم والليلة” (79)، وأحمد (655)، وابن حبان (1444)، والحاكم (185)، من حديث عائشة رضي الله عنها .

    Narrated ‘Aisha (rad): When the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) came out of the privy, he used to say, “Ghufranaka (O Allah! Grant me Your forgiveness)”. [Reported by Al-Khamsa, Abu Hatim and Al-Hakim graded it Sahih (sound)].

    وَلِلْحَاكِمِ. عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَرْفُوعًا: { إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ, فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ أَحْدَثْتَ, فَلْيَقُلْ: كَذَبْتَ }

    And Abu Sa’id narrated in Marfu’ Hadith: “If Satan comes to one of you and says: ‘You have nullified your ablution (by releasing air)’, let him say: ‘You have lied.” [Reported by Al-Hakim].

    وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { أَتَى اَلنَّبِيُّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -اَلْغَائِطَ, فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آتِيَهُ بِثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ, فَوَجَدْتُ حَجَرَيْنِ, وَلَمْ أَجِدْ ثَالِثًا. فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِرَوْثَةٍ. فَأَخَذَهُمَا وَأَلْقَى اَلرَّوْثَةَ, وَقَالَ: “هَذَا رِكْسٌ” } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْبُخَارِيّ ُ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (156).

    Narrated Ibn Mas’ud (rad): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) went out to answer the call of nature and asked me to bring three stones. I found two stones and searched for the third but could not find it. So I took a dried piece of dung and brought it to him. He took the two stones and threw away the dung and said, “This is a filthy thing”. [Reported by Al-Bukhari]

    وَأَخْرَجَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ بِلَفْظِ: { فَلْيَقُلْ فِي نَفْسِهِ } 1 . 1 – ضعيف. رواه الحاكم (134)، وابن حبان (2666)، وتمامه عندهما: “حتى يسمع صوتا بأذنه، أو يجد ريحا بأنفه”.

    Ibn Hibban also reported the above Hadith with the version: “Let him say in his heart…”

    زَادَ أَحْمَدُ, وَاَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ: { ائْتِنِي بِغَيْرِهَا } 1 . 1 – رواه أحمد (1 /450)، والدارقطني (1 /55) واللفظ للدارقطني، وأما لفظ أحمد، فهو: “ائتني بحجر”. وهي زيادة صحيحة.

    And in the version of Ahmad and Ad-Daraqutni it is added: “Bring me more (something other than dung)”].
