    عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -إِذَا دَخَلَ اَلْخَلَاءَ وَضَعَ خَاتَمَهُ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْأَرْبَعَةُ, وَهُوَ مَعْلُول ٌ 1 . 1 – منكر . رواه أبو داود (19)، والترمذي (1746)، والنسائي (1/178)، وابن ماجه (303).

    Narrated Anas bin Malik (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) used to remove his ring when entering the lavatory. [Reported by Al-Arba’a and it is defective].

    وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: { كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -إِذَا دَخَلَ اَلْخَلَاءَ قَالَ: “اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ اَلْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ” } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلسَّبْعَة ُ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (142)، ومسلم (375)، وأبو داود (4)، والترمذي (5)، والنسائي (10)، وابن ماجه (296)، أحمد (3/99 و 101 و 282).

    Narrated Anas (rad): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) on entering the lavatory used to say: [Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal khubthi wal khaba’ithi] “O Allah, I seek refuge with You from devils – males and females (or all offensive and wicked things, evil deeds and evil spirits, etc.)” [Reported by As-Sab’a]

    وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: { كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -يَدْخُلُ اَلْخَلَاءَ, فَأَحْمِلُ أَنَا وَغُلَامٌ نَحْوِي إِدَاوَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ وَعَنَزَةً, فَيَسْتَنْجِي بِالْمَاءِ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْه ِ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (150)، ومسلم (271)، (70) واللفظ لمسلم. والعنزة: رميح بين العصا والرمح، فيه زج.

    Narrated Anas (rad): Whenever Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) went to the privy, a servant and I used to carry a skin water container and a spear, and he would cleanse himself with the water. [Agreed upon].

    وَعَنْ اَلْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { قَالَ لِي اَلنَّبِيُّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم – “خُذِ اَلْإِدَاوَةَ” . فَانْطَلَقَ حَتَّى تَوَارَى عَنِّي, فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْه ِ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (363)، ومسلم (274) (77).

    Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu’ba (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) told me, “Take the skin water”, he then went forward till he disappeared from me and relieved himself [Agreed upon]

    وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ اِتَّقُوا اَللَّاعِنِينَ: اَلَّذِي يَتَخَلَّى فِي طَرِيقِ اَلنَّاسِ, أَوْ فِي ظِلِّهِمْ } رَوَاهُ مُسْلِم ٌ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه مسلم (269).

    Narrated Abu Huraira (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Safeguard yourselves from the two matters which cause accursing that befalls the one who relieves himself on people’s path-ways and under the shades.” [Reported by Muslim].

    زَادَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ, عَنْ مُعَاذٍ: { وَالْمَوَارِدَ } 1 . 1 – ضعيف. أي بلفظ: “والموارد” وباقيه صحيح. رواه أبو داود (26) ولفظه: “اتقوا الملاعن الثلاث: البراز في الموارد، وقارعة الطريق، والظل”.

    Narrated Mu’adh (rad): He said: “Guard against the three things which cause curse (i.e.) defecating at the watering places, on the roadbeds and in the shades.” [Reported by Abu Dawud]

    وَلِأَحْمَدَ; عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: { أَوْ نَقْعِ مَاءٍ } وَفِيهِمَا ضَعْف ٌ 1 . 1 – ضعيف. رواه أحمد (2715).

    Ahmad reported from Ibn Abbas (rad) that defecation is prohibited also at the place where water collects. [And both the two (i.e. the previous and this Hadiths) have weakness].

    وَعَنْ أَنَسِ]بْنِ مَالِكٍ] – رضى الله عنه – { أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -اِحْتَجَمَ وَصَلَّى, وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ, وَلَيَّنَه ُ 1 . 1 – ضعيف. رواه الدارقطني (151-152).

    Narrated Anas bin Malik (rad): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) had blood extracted from his body and offered the prayer and did not perform (a new) ablution. [Reported by Ad-Daraqutni who graded it Da’if (weak)].

    وَأَشَارَ مُسْلِمٌ إِلَى أَنَّهُ حَذَفَهَا عَمْدً ا 1 . 1 – إذ قال: “وفي حديث حماد بن زيد زيادة حرف تركنا ذكره”. قلت: ومثل ذلك قال النسائي، ولكن لم يتفرد حماد بهذه الزيادة، كما بينته في “الأصل”.

    and Muslim admitted that he dropped this addition deliberately.

    وَعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ الْعَيْنُ وِكَاءُ السَّهِ, فَإِذَا نَامَتْ اَلْعَيْنَانِ اِسْتَطْلَقَ اَلْوِكَاءُ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَزَادَ { وَمَنْ نَامَ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ }

    Narrated Mu’awiyah (rad): Allah’s Messenger (saW) said: “The eye (when awake) is the string of the anus (to stop air escaping), and if the two eyes sleep the string is untied”. [Reported by Ahmad and At-Tabarani who added, “Whoever sleeps should perform ablution]”
