    وَعَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { كُنْتُ رَجُلاً مَذَّاءً, فَأَمَرْتُ اَلْمِقْدَادَ بْنَ اَلْأَسْوَدِ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -فَسَأَلَهُ ? فَقَالَ: “فِيهِ اَلْوُضُوءُ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَاللَّفْظُ لِلْبُخَارِيّ ِ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (132)، ومسلم (303)، ولفظ مسلم: (منه) بدل (فيه).

    Narrated ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (rad): I was one who Madhi (urethral discharge) flowed readily and asked Miqdad (his slave) to ask the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) about it. He (the Prophet) said:“One should perform Wudu (ablution) in this case”. [Agreed upon and this is Al-Bukhari’s version].

    وَهَذِهِ اَلزِّيَادَةُ فِي هَذَا اَلْحَدِيثِ عِنْدَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ دُونَ قَوْلِهِ: { اِسْتَطْلَقَ اَلْوِكَاءُ } وَفِي كِلَا الْإِسْنَادَيْنِ ضَعْف ٌ 1 . 1 – حسن. رواه أحمد (4/97)، وأبو داود (203) وفي الأصل زيادة تفصيل.

    Also reported by Abu Da’ud mentioning the above addition without the words “the string is untied”, but both versions are weak.

    وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ, رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا; { أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَبَّلَ بَعْضَ نِسَائِهِ, ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى اَلصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ } أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَضَعَّفَهُ اَلْبُخَارِيّ ُ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه أحمد (610)، وهو وإن ضعفه البخاري، وأعله غيره إلا أن هناك من صححه وهو الصواب.

    Narrated ‘Aisha (rad): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) kissed one of his wives and went to pray without performing (fresh) ablution. [Reported by Ahmad and Al-Bukhari graded it Da’if (weak)].

    وَلِأَبِي دَاوُدَ أَيْضًا, عَنْ اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَرْفُوعًا: { إِنَّمَا اَلْوُضُوءُ عَلَى مَنْ نَامَ مُضْطَجِعًا } وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ ضَعْفٌ أَيْضً ا 1 . 1 – منكر. رواه أبو داود (202).

    And Ibn ‘Abbas (rad) narrated in a Marfu’ (traceable) Hadith that: “Ablution is necessary for one who sleeps while he is lying flat. [Reported by Abu Da’ud and there is weakness in its chain of narrators].

    وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي بَطْنِهِ شَيْئًا, فَأَشْكَلَ عَلَيْهِ: أَخَرَجَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ, أَمْ لَا? فَلَا يَخْرُجَنَّ مِنْ اَلْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا, أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم ٌ 1 . 1 – صحيح. مسلم (362) .

    Narrated Abu Huraira (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “If one of you feels disturbance in his stomach and doubts whether he has released some wind or not, then he should not leave the mosque unless he hears its sound or smells (its) odour”. [Reported by Muslim].

    وَعَنِ اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا; أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ: { يَأْتِي أَحَدَكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ, فَيَنْفُخُ فِي مَقْعَدَتِهِ فَيُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ أَحْدَثَ, وَلَمْ يُحْدِثْ, فَإِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا يَنْصَرِفُ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْبَزَّار ُ 1 . 1 – رواه البزار (281).

    Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Satan comes to one of you in Salat and blows air in his bottom, so he imagines that he has realised air yet he did not. So if he gets that feeling he should not leave his prayer unless he hears the sound (of the air) or smells its odour.” [Reported by Al-Bazzar].

    وَعَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { قَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَسَسْتُ ذَكَرِي أَوْ قَالَ اَلرَّجُلُ يَمَسُّ ذَكَرَهُ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ, أَعَلَيْهِ وُضُوءٍ ? فَقَالَ اَلنَّبِيُّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -“لَا, إِنَّمَا هُوَ بَضْعَةٌ مِنْكَ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّان َ 1 . 1 – حسن. رواه أبو داود (182 و 183)، والنسائي (101)، والترمذي (85)، وابن ماجه (483)، وأحمد (43)، وابن حبان (207 موارد). ولكن ينبغي معرفة أن هذا الحديث منسوخ، إذ قال ابن حزم في “المحلي” (139) ولنعم ما قال: “هذا الخبر -خبر طلق- صحيح إلا أنهم لا حجة لهم فيه لوجوه: أحدها: أن هذا الخبر موافق لما كان الناس عليه قبل ورود الأمر بالوضوء من مس الفرج، هذا لا شك فيه، فإذا هو كذلك فحكمه منسوخ يقينا حين أمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالوضوء من مس الفرج، ولا يحل ترك ما تيقن أنه ناسخ، والأخذ بما تيقن أنه منسوخ. وثانيها: أن كلامه عليه السلام: “هل هو إلا بضعة منك؟” دليل بين على أنه كان قبل الأمر بالوضوء منه؛ لأنه لو كان بعده لم يقل عليه السلام هذا الكلام، بل كان يبين أن الأمر بذلك قد نسخ، وقوله هذا يدل على أنه لم يكن سلف فيه حكم أصلا، وأنه كسائر الأعضاء” .

    Narrated Talq bin ‘Ali (rad): A man said: “I touched my penis” or he said, “Does a man who touch his penis during the prayer should perform Wudu (ablution)?” The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) replied, “No, it is only a part of your body”. [Reported by Al-Khamsa. Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (sound).

    وَقَالَ اِبْنُ اَلْمَدِينِيِّ: هُوَ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ بُسْرَةَ.

    and Ibn Al-Madini said, “It is better than the Hadith of Busra”.

    وَعَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا; { أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ: “مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ” } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ, وَابْنُ حِبَّان َ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه أبو داود (181)، والنسائي (100)، والترمذي (82)، وابن ماجه (479)، وأحمد (6 /406)، وابن حبان (212 موارد). وقد أعل هذا الحديث بما لا يقدح، كما هو مبين “بالأصل”.

    Narrated Busra bint Safwan (rad): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “He who touches his penis should perform ablution”. [Reported by Al-Khamsa, and At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (sound).

    وَقَالَ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ: هُوَ أَصَحُّ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا اَلْبَابِ.

    and Al-Bukhari said, “It is the most authentic in this chapter”.
