What is the significance of performing Tawaf al-Ifada during Hajj?

(the wife of the Prophet) I told Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) that Safiya bint Huyai had got her menses. He said,
“She will probably delay us. Did she perform Tawaf (Al-Ifada) with you?” We replied, “Yes.” On that
the Prophet (ﷺ) told her to depart.
