question #1 Sahih Muslim 355a, Book 3, Hadith 114 : What is the significance of performing ablution before prayer in Islam?

I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) take slices from goat’s shoulder, and then eat them, and then offer prayer without having performed ablution.
