How does Islam address the concept of divine knowledge regarding the actions of individuals who have not lived to perform them?

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was asked about the offspring of the pagans. He said,
“Allah knows what they would have done (were they to live).”
“Allah knows what they would have done (were they to live).”
