باب فِي الْجَنَائِزِ وَمَنْ كَانَ آخِرُ كَلاَمِهِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ
Chapter: What is said about funerals, and those whose last words were: La ilãha ilallãh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ وَاقِفٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِعَرَفَةَ إِذْ وَقَعَ مِنْ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَأَقْصَعَتْهُ ـ أَوْ قَالَ فَأَقْعَصَتْهُ ـ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم “ اغْسِلُوهُ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، وَكَفِّنُوهُ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ، وَلاَ تُحَنِّطُوهُ وَلاَ تُخَمِّرُوا رَأْسَهُ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُلَبِّيًا ” .
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: While a man was at `Arafat (for Hajj) with Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) the fell down from his Mount and broke
his neck (and died). So Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Wash him with water and Sidr and shroud him in two
pieces of cloth and neither perfume him nor cover his head, for Allah will resurrect him on the Day of
Resurrection and he will be saying ‘Labbaik.”
