باب كَيْفَ نُزُولُ الْوَحْىِ وَأَوَّلُ مَا نَزَلَ
Chapter: How the Divine Revelation used to be revealed and what was the first thing revealed
حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ” اقْرَأْ عَلَىَّ ”. قُلْتُ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَيْكَ أُنْزِلَ قَالَ ” إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِي ”.
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, “Recite Qur’an to me.” I said to him. “Shall I recite (it) to you while it has
been revealed to you?” He said, “I like to hear it from another person.”
