وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ – رضى الله عنه – 1 قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَمْسَحِ اَلْحَصَى , فَإِنَّ اَلرَّحْمَةَ تُوَاجِهُهُ } رَوَاهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ بِإِسْنَادٍ صَحِيحٍ 2 1 – وقع في “أ” : “أبي هريرة” وهو خطأ . 2 – ضعيف . رواه أبو داود (945) ، والنسائي (3/6) ، والترمذي (379) ، وابن ماجه (1027) ، وأحمد (5/150و163و179) من طريق أبي الأحوص ، عن أبي ذر . وقال الترمذي : “حديث حسن ” . قلت : كلا . فإن أبا الأحوص “لا يعرف له حال ” كما قال ابن القطان ، والعجب بن الحافظ -رحمه الله- إذ أطلق القول بصحة الإسناد هنا . بينما قال في “التقريب” عن أبي الأحوص : “مقبول” يعني : إذا توبع وإلا فلين الحديث . قلت : وفي الحديث علة أخرى ، فهو ضعيف على أية حال .

Narrated Abu Dhar (RA): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “When one of you is praying he must not remove pebbles (from his face) for the mercy is facing him.” [Reported by al-Khamsah with a Sahih (authentic) chain].

وَزَادَ أَحْمَدُ : “وَاحِدَةً أَوْ دَعْ” 1 1 – صحيح . رواه أحمد (5/163) وهو وإن كان في سنده ابن أبي ليلى وهو متكلم فيه من قبل حفظه إلا أنه حفظه ، ومما يدل على ذلك الحديث التالي .

And Ahmad added to the above Hadith: “(remove the pebbles) once or leave (them).”

وَفِي “اَلصَّحِيحِ” عَنْ مُعَيْقِيبٍ نَحْوُهُ بِغَيْرِ تَعْلِيلٍ. 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (1207) ، ومسلم (546) ولفظه : ” إن كنت فاعلا فواحدة”.

It is also reported in as-Sahih on the authority of Mu’aiqib without mention of the reason.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ –رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا– قَالَتْ : { سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -عَنْ اَلِالْتِفَاتِ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ ? فَقَالَ : “هُوَ اِخْتِلَاسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ اَلشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ اَلْعَبْدِ } رَوَاهُ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ . 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (751) .

Narrated ‘Aishah (RA): I asked Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) about looking around during prayer and he said, “It is something which the devil snatches from a person’s prayer.” [Reported by al-Bukhari].

وَلِلتِّرْمِذِيِّ : عَنْ أَنَسٍ – وَصَحَّحَهُ – { إِيَّاكَ وَالِالْتِفَاتَ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ , فَإِنَّهُ هَلَكَةٌ , فَإِنْ كَانَ فَلَا بُدَّ فَفِي اَلتَّطَوُّعِ } 1 1 – ضعيف . رواه الترمذي (589) ، وللحديث تتمة طويلة ، ولئن نقل الحافظ هنا عن الترمذي تصحيحه ، فإن النقل عن الترمذي في ذلك مختلف باعتراف الحافظ نفسه ، وبيان ذلك “بالأصل” .

at-Tirmidhi has reported and graded as Sahih (authentic) the narration of Anas (RA): “Avoid looking around when you are engaged in prayer, for looking around is destruction. And if you must do it, do so in the voluntary prayers.”

وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ , فَلَا يَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ , وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (1214) ، ومسلم (551) .

Narrated Anas (RA): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “When anyone of you is engaged in Salat (prayer), he is holding intimate conversation with his Rabb so he should not spit in front of him, nor to his right side, but to his left side, under his foot”. [Agreed upon].

وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : { أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ } 1 1 – هي للبخاري في مواطن ، منها رقم 413 .

A narration has: “or under his foot.”

وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : { كَانَ قِرَامٌ لِعَائِشَةَ -رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا- سَتَرَتْ بِهِ جَانِبَ بَيْتِهَا فَقَالَ اَلنَّبِيُّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -أَمِيطِي عَنَّا قِرَامَكِ هَذَا , فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَزَالُ تَصَاوِيرُهُ تَعْرِضُ لِي فِي صَلَاتِي } رَوَاهُ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (374) . و”القرام” بكسر القاف وتخفيف الراء: ستر رقيق من صوف ذو ألوان و” أميطي”: أزيلي وزنا ومعنى.

Narrated [Anas (RA)]: ‘Aishah (RA) had a Qiram (a soft piece of cloth with colours) with which she had screened one side of her house. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Take away this Qiram of yours, for its pictures are displayed in front of me during my prayer.” [Reported by al-Bukhari].
