    وَلِابْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ: عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: { مِنْ اَلسُّنَّةِ إِذَا قَالَ اَلْمُؤَذِّنُ فِي اَلْفَجْرِ: حَيٌّ عَلَى اَلْفَلَاحِ, قَالَ: اَلصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ اَلنَّوْمِ } 1 . 1 – رواه ابن خزيمة (386) بسند صحيح.

    Ibn Khuzaimah reported from Anas (RA): “It is from the Sunnah that when the Mu’adhadhin says [in the first Adhan of] Fajr (prayer time): ‘Haiya ‘alal-Falah (Come to the success)’, he says (also) ‘as-Salatu khairun minan-nawm (Prayer is better than sleep).’”

    عَنْ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ – رضى الله عنه – { أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -عَلَّمَهُ اَلْآذَانَ, فَذَكَرَ فِيهِ اَلتَّرْجِيعَ } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ. وَلَكِنْ ذَكَرَ اَلتَّكْبِيرَ فِي أَوَّلِهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَقَطْ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه مسلم (379). “والترجيع”: أي في الشهادتين فيقولها مرة بصوت منخفض، ومرة أخرى بصوت مرتفع.

    Narrated Abu Mahdhura (RA): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) taught him the Adhan (call to prayer) and he (the narrator) mentioned the Tarji’ in it. [Muslim reported it, but mentioned the phrase (Takbir) “Allah is the Most Great” at its beginning just twice.

    وَرَوَاهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ فَذَكَرُوهُ مُرَبَّعًا 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه أبو داود (502)، والنسائي (2 /4-5)، والترمذي (192 )، وابن ماجه (709)، وأحمد (3 /409 و 6 /401)، وقال الترمذي: “حديث حسن صحيح”.

    al-Khamsah reported it, but mentioned the Takbir four times.

    وَعَنْ أَنَسِ]بْنِ مَالِكٍ] – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: { أُمِرَ بِلَالٌ أَنْ يَشْفَعَ اَلْآذَانَ, وَيُوتِرَ اَلْإِقَامَةَ, إِلَّا اَلْإِقَامَةَ, يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: قَدْ قَامَتِ اَلصَّلَاةُ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مُسْلِمٌ اَلِاسْتِثْنَاءَ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (605)، ومسلم (378).

    Narrated Anas (RA): Bilal was commanded to announce the Adhan (each phrase) twice and the Iqamah (each phrase) once except “The prayer stood ready to begin” (to be pronounced twice). [Agreed upon; but Muslim did not mentioned the exception].

    وَلِلْحَاكِمِ فِي حَدِيثِ جَابِرٍ – رضى الله عنه – نَحْوُهُ, وَزَادَ فِي اَلَّذِي يُحَرِّمُ اَلطَّعَامَ: { إِنَّهُ يَذْهَبُ مُسْتَطِيلاً فِي اَلْأُفُقِ } وَفِي اَلْآخَرِ: { إِنَّهُ كَذَنَبِ اَلسِّرْحَان } 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه الحاكم (191) وقال: “إسناده صحيح”. وقال الذهبي: “صحيح”. “والسرحان”: هو: الذئب، والمراد أنه لا يذهب مستطيلا ممتدا، بل يرتفع في السماء كالعمود. قاله الصنعاني.

    al-Hakim reported something similar to the above Hadith from Jabir and added to the type of dawn in which eating is forbidden: “it is spread widely in the horizon,” and to the other type: “it has the shape of wolf’s tail.”

    وَلِلنَّسَائِيِّ: { أَمَرَ اَلنَّبِيُّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -بِلَالاً } 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه النسائي (2/3) .

    A narration of an-Nasa’i has: “Bilal was ordered by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم).”

    وَعَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ: { كُنَّا نُصَلِّي اَلْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ اَلنَّبِيِّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -فَيَنْصَرِفُ أَحَدُنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَيُبْصِرُ مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (559)، ومسلم (637). وقال الحافظ في “الفتح” (2 /41): “ومقتضاه المبادرة بالمغرب في أول وقتها، بحيث أن الفراغ منها يقع والضوء باق”.

    Narrated Rafi’ bin Khadij (RA): We used to offer the Maghrib prayer with Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and then one of us would go (out of the mosque) and be able to see the spot his would fall at. [Agreed upon].

    وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: { أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ بِالْعَشَاءِ, حَتَّى ذَهَبَ عَامَّةُ اَللَّيْلِ, ثُمَّ خَرَجَ, فَصَلَّى, وَقَالَ: “إِنَّهُ لَوَقْتُهَا لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي” } رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه مسلم (638) (219). و “أعتم”: أخرها حتى اشتدت عتمة الليل، وهي ظلمته.

    Narrated ‘Aishah (RA): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) delayed (the ‘Isha’ prayer) one night till a great part of the night passed, then he went out and offered the prayer, and said, “This is the proper time for it; were it not that I would impose a burden on my followers.” [Reported by Muslim].

    وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا اِشْتَدَّ اَلْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ, فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ اَلْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه البخاري (536)، ومسلم (615). و “الإبراد” تأخير صلاة الظهر إلى أن يبرد الوقت.

    Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “When it is hot, delay the (Zuhr) prayer till it cools down, for the intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell.” [Agreed upon].

    وَعَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ أَصْبِحُوا بِالصُّبْحِ فَإِنَّهُ أَعْظَمُ لِأُجُورِكُمْ } رَوَاهُ اَلْخَمْسَةُ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ, وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ 1 . 1 – صحيح. رواه أبو داود (424)، والنسائي (172)، والترمذي (154)، وابن ماجه (672)، وأحمد (3 /465 و 440 و 142 و 143)، وابن حبان (1490)، (1491). وفي لفظ: “أعظم للأجر”، وفي أخر: “لأجرها”. وقال الترمذي: “حديث رافع بن خديج حديث حسن صحيح”. ومعنى “أسفروا”: أراد صلى الله عليه وسلم في الليالي المقمرة التي لا يتبين فيها وضوح طلوع الفجر؛ لئلا يؤدي المرء صلاة الصبح إلا بعد التيقن بالإسفار بطلوع الفجر، فإن الصلاة إذا أديت كما وصفنا كان أعظم للأجر من أن تصلى على غير يقين من طلوع الفجر. قاله ابن حبان. ومن قبل ذلك نقل الترمذي عن الشافعي وأحمد وإسحاق أنهم قالوا: معنى الإسفار: أن يضح الفجر فلا يشك فيه.

    Narrated Rafi’ bin Khadij (RA): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Offer the morning prayer at dawn, for it is greater for your rewards.” [Reported by al-Khamsah. at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)].
