وَلِابْنِ مَاجَهْ بِإِسْنَادِ مُسْلِمٍ : { حَتَّى تَطْمَئِنَّ قَائِمًا } 1 1 – قلت : وهو على شرط الشيخين .
The narration of Ibn Majah through a chain of Muslim has: “Then rise up and stand erect calmly.”
وَلَهُمَا : مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَائِشَةَ -رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا- : { كَانُوا إِذَا مَاتَ فِيهِمْ اَلرَّجُلُ اَلصَّالِحُ بَنَوْا عَلَى قَبْرِهِ مَسْجِدًا } وَفِيهِ : { أُولَئِكَ شِرَارُ اَلْخَلْقِ } 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (427) ، ومسلم (528) .
Narrated ‘Aishah (RA) in al-Bukhari and Muslim [that Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said], “When a pious person amongst them (the Jews and Christians) died they used to build a place of worship and prostration on his grave.” In the same Hadith is: “Those are the worst of creatures.”
وَمِثْلُهُ فِي حَدِيثِ رِفَاعَةَ عِنْدَ أَحْمَدَ وَابْنِ حِبَّانَ 1 1 – يريد قوله : “ثم ارفع حتى تطمئن قائما” . قلت: هي عند أحمد (4/340) بسند صحيح ، وأما عزوها لابن حبان فما أظنه إلا وهما .
And in the narration of Ibn Hibban and Ahmad the Hadith of Rifa’a bin Rafi’ bin Malik is similar to the above.
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ : { بَعَثَ اَلنَّبِيُّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -خَيْلاً , فَجَاءَتْ بِرَجُلٍ , فَرَبَطُوهُ بِسَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي اَلْمَسْجِدِ } اَلْحَدِيثَ . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ . 1 1 – صحيح . انظر رقم (113) .
Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) sent an expedition of horsemen who came back with a man, they then tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque. [Agreed upon].
وَفِي لَفْظٍ لِأَحْمَدَ : { فَأَقِمْ صُلْبَكَ حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ اَلْعِظَامُ } 1 1 – صحيح . وهذه الرواية عند أحمد (4/340) ، وابن حبان (1787) وزادا : “إلى مفاصلها ” .
And Ahmad has: “Keep your back straight till the bones return (to their positions).”
وَعَنْهُ – رضى الله عنه – { أَنَّ عُمَرَ – رضى الله عنه – مُرَّ بِحَسَّانَ يَنْشُدُ فِي اَلْمَسْجِدِ , فَلَحَظَ إِلَيْهِ , فَقَالَ : “قَدْ كُنْتُ أَنْشُدُ , وَفِيهِ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ } . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ . 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (3212) ، ومسلم (2485) .
Narrated [Abu Hurairah (RA)]: Umar came over Hassan while reciting poetry inside the mosque and looked at him sternly, then he (Hassan) said: “I used to recite poetry inside it (the mosque) in the presence of one who is more pious than you [i.e. the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم)]”. [Agreed upon].
وَلِلنَّسَائِيِّ , وَأَبِي دَاوُدَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ : { إِنَّهَا لَنْ 1 تَتِمُّ صَلَاةُ أَحَدِكُمْ حَتَّى يُسْبِغَ اَلْوُضُوءَ كَمَا أَمَرَهُ اَللَّهُ , ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرَ اَللَّهَ , وَيَحْمَدَهُ , وَيُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهِ } . 2 1 – كذا بالأصل ، وفي النسائي : “لم” ، وفي أبي داود : “لا” . 2 – صحيح . رواه أبو داود (858) ، والنسائي (2/226) .
And in the narration of an-Nasa’i and Abu Dawud from the Hadith of Rifa’a bin Rafi’: “The Salat (prayer) of one of you will not be complete until he performs Wudu’ (ablution) properly as Allah commanded him, then he says Allahu Akbar and Alhamdu lillah and praises Him.”
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ –رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا– قَالَتْ : { سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -عَنْ اَلِالْتِفَاتِ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ ? فَقَالَ : “هُوَ اِخْتِلَاسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ اَلشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ اَلْعَبْدِ } رَوَاهُ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ . 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (751) .
Narrated ‘Aishah (RA): I asked Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) about looking around during prayer and he said, “It is something which the devil snatches from a person’s prayer.” [Reported by al-Bukhari].
وَلِلتِّرْمِذِيِّ : عَنْ أَنَسٍ – وَصَحَّحَهُ – { إِيَّاكَ وَالِالْتِفَاتَ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ , فَإِنَّهُ هَلَكَةٌ , فَإِنْ كَانَ فَلَا بُدَّ فَفِي اَلتَّطَوُّعِ } 1 1 – ضعيف . رواه الترمذي (589) ، وللحديث تتمة طويلة ، ولئن نقل الحافظ هنا عن الترمذي تصحيحه ، فإن النقل عن الترمذي في ذلك مختلف باعتراف الحافظ نفسه ، وبيان ذلك “بالأصل” .
at-Tirmidhi has reported and graded as Sahih (authentic) the narration of Anas (RA): “Avoid looking around when you are engaged in prayer, for looking around is destruction. And if you must do it, do so in the voluntary prayers.”
وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي اَلصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ , فَلَا يَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ , وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (1214) ، ومسلم (551) .
Narrated Anas (RA): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “When anyone of you is engaged in Salat (prayer), he is holding intimate conversation with his Rabb so he should not spit in front of him, nor to his right side, but to his left side, under his foot”. [Agreed upon].
