    وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ : { كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -وَالْقُرْآنُ يَنْزِلُ , وَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْئًا يُنْهَى عَنْهُ لَنَهَانَا عَنْهُ اَلْقُرْآنُ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري 9 / 305 / فتح ) ، ومسلم ( 1440 ) . ” تنبيه ” : عزو الحديث بهذا التمام للبخاري ومسلم وهم من الحافظ – رحمه الله – إذ المتفق عليه إلى قوله : ” والقرآن ينزل” . وأما هذه الزيادة : ” لو كان شيئا . . . ” فرواها مسلم وحده من طريق إسحاق بن راهويه قال : قال سفيان : ” لو كان شيئا . . . ” فإدراج الحافظ لها في الحديث وهم ، وعزوها إلى الشيخين وهم آخر ، بل هو نفسه -رحمه الله- قال في ” الفتح ” . ” هذا ظاهر في أن سفيان قاله استنباطا ، وأوهم كلام صاحب ” العمدة ” ومن تبعه أن هذه الزيادة من نفس الحديث فأدرجها ، وليس الأمر كذلك ؛ فإني تتبعته من المسانيد ، فوجدت أكثر رواته عن سفيان لا يذكرون هذه الزيادة “.

    Narrated Jabir (RA): In the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) when the Qur’an was being revealed, we used to engage in ‘Azl. Hence, if it had been something forbidden, the Qur’an would have forbade us from doing it. [Agreed upon].

    وَلِمُسْلِمٍ : { فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نَبِيَّ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا } 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه مسلم ( 1440 ) ( 138 ) وهو وإن كان من طريق أبي الزبير ، عن جابر ، وهو مدلس وقد عنعنه ، إلا أن له طرقا أخرى تشهد له.

    And Muslim has: “That (which we were doing) reached the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and he did not forbid us from doing it.”

    وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ – رضى الله عنه – { أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -كَانَ يَطُوفُ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ بِغُسْلٍ وَاحِدٍ } أَخْرَجَاهُ , وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِمٍ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري (268) و ( 284 و 5068 و 5215 ) ، ومسلم ( 309 ) ، وهذا لفظ مسلم كما قال الحافظ . وأما لفظ البخاري فهو : ” كان يطوف على نسائه في ليلة واحدة ” . وفي أخرى : ” كان يدور على نسائه في الساعة الواحدة من الليل والنهار “.

    Narrated Anas bin Malik (RA): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) used to have intercourse with his wives (one after another), with a single bathing. [Agreed upon. The wording is Muslim’s].

    عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , عَنِ اَلنَّبِيِّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ أَنَّهُ أَعْتَقَ صَفِيَّةَ , وَجَعَلَ عِتْقَهَا صَدَاقَهَا } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري ( 5086 ) ، ومسلم ( 2 / 1045 / رقم 85 ).

    Narrated Anas (RA): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) set Safiyah (RA) free, and made her freedom her dowry. [Agreed upon].

    وَعَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَلرَّحْمَنِ ; أَنَّهُ قَالَ : { سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ اَلنَّبِيِّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -كَمْ كَانَ صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَتْ : كَانَ صَدَاقُهُ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشًّا . قَالَتْ : أَتَدْرِي مَا اَلنَّشُّ ? قَالَ : قُلْتُ : لَا . قَالَتْ : نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ . فَتِلْكَ خَمْسُمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ , فَهَذَا صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -لِأَزْوَاجِهِ } رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه مسلم ( 1426 ).

    Narrated Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman (RA): I asked ‘Aishah (RA), “How much had Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) given as dowry?” She replied, “His dowry to his wives was twelve Uqiya and Nashsh.” She asked, “Do you know what a an-Nashsh is?” I replied, “No.” She said, “It is half an Uqiya. Hence, the total was five hundred Dirhams, and that was Allah’s Messenger’s (صلى الله عليه وسلم) dowry to his wives.” [Reported by Muslim].

    وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ – رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا- قَالَ : { لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ عَلِيٌّ فَاطِمَةَ -عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلَامُ- . قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -” أَعْطِهَا شَيْئًا ” , قَالَ : مَا عِنْدِي شَيْءٌ . قَالَ :” فَأَيْنَ دِرْعُكَ الحُطَمِيَّةُ ? } رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ , وَالنَّسَائِيُّ , وَصَحَّحَهُ اَلْحَاكِمُ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه أبو داود (2125) ، والنسائي (6 / 130) . الحطمية . قال في ” النهاية ” ( 1 / 402 ) : ” هي التي تحطم السيوف ؛ أي : تكسرها ، وقيل : هي العريضة الثقيلة . وقيل : هي منسوبة إلى بطن من عبد القيس يقال لهم : حطمة بن محارب ، كانوا يعملون بالدروع ، وهذا أشبه بالأقوال “.

    Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas (RA): When ‘Ali (RA) married Fatimah (RA) Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said to him, “Give her something (as dowry).” He replied, “I have nothing.” He said, “Where is your Hutamiya coat of mail?” [Reported by Abu Dawud and an-Nasa’i; al-Hakim graded it Sahih (authentic)].

    وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ أَيُّمَا اِمْرَأَةٍ نَكَحَتْ عَلَى صَدَاقٍ , أَوْ حِبَاءٍ , أَوْ عِدَةٍ , قَبْلَ عِصْمَةِ اَلنِّكَاحِ , فَهُوَ لَهَا, وَمَا كَانَ بَعْدَ عِصْمَةِ اَلنِّكَاحِ , فَهُوَ لِمَنْ أُعْطِيَهُ, وَأَحَقُّ مَا أُكْرِمَ اَلرَّجُلُ عَلَيْهِ اِبْنَتُهُ , أَوْ أُخْتُهُ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ , وَالْأَرْبَعَةُ إِلَّا اَلتِّرْمِذِيَّ 1 . 1 – ضعيف . رواه أحمد ( 2 / 182 ) ، وأبو داود ( 2129 ) ، والنسائي ( 6 / 120 ) ، وابن ماجه ( 1955 ) من طريق ابن جريج ، عن عمرو ، به . وعلته عنعنة ابن جريج ، فهو مدلس.

    Narrated ‘Amr bin Shu’aib on his father’s authority from his grandfather: Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “If any woman marries for a dowry, a gift, or a promise before contracting the marriage, it belongs to her. As for whatever is fixed to her after contracting the marriage, it belongs to whomever it has been given. The most worthy gift a man is honored with is what he gets on account of (the marriage of) his daughter or sister.” [Reported by Ahmad and al-Arba’a except at-Tirmidhi].

    وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ اَلْخُدْرِيِّ – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِنَّ شَرَّ اَلنَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً عِنْدَ اَللَّهِ يَوْمَ اَلْقِيَامَةِ ; اَلرَّجُلُ يُفْضِي إِلَى اِمْرَأَتِهِ وَتُفْضِي إِلَيْهِ , ثُمَّ يَنْشُرُ سِرَّهَا } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ 1 . 1 – منكر . رواه مسلم ( 1437 ) . وآفته عمر بن حمزة قال عنه أحمد في ” العلل ” ( 2 / 44 / 317 ) أحاديثه أحاديث مناكير . وقال الذهبي في ” الكاشف ” : ” ضعفه ابن معين والنسائي” ثم أضاف إلى ذلك كلمة أحمد السابقة. وقال الحافظ في ” التقريب” : ” ضعيف ” . ونص الذهبي في ” الميزان ” ( 3 / 192 ) على هذا الحديث ، وأنه : ” مما استنكر لعمر “.

    Narrated Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (RA): Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “The worst of people in position before Allah on the Day of Resurrection is the man who has intercourse with his wife, and she with him, and then spreads her secrets.” [Reported by Muslim].

    وَعَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ : { قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ ! مَا حَقُّ زَوْجِ أَحَدِنَا عَلَيْهِ ? قَالَ : ” تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا أَكَلْتَ , وَتَكْسُوهَا إِذَا اِكْتَسَيْتَ , وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ , وَلَا تُقَبِّحْ , وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي اَلْبَيْتِ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ , وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ , وَالنَّسَائِيُّ , وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ، وَعَلَّقَ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ بَعْضَهُ، وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ , وَالْحَاكِمُ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه أحمد ( 4 / 447 و 5 / 3 و 5 ) ، وأبو داود ( 2142 ) ، والنسائي في ” عشرة النساء ” ( 289 ) ، وابن ماجه (1850) ، وابن حبان ( 1268 ) ، والحاكم ( 2 / 187 – 188 ) . وعلق البخاري منه فقط ( 9 / 300 / فتح ) قوله : ” غير أن لا تهجر إلا في البيت “.

    Narrated Hakim bin Mu’awiyah on the authority of his father (RA): I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what are the rights of a wife of one of us on her husband?” He replied, “You should give her food when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, not strike her on the face, and do not revile her or desert her except within the house.” [Reported by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah, al-Bukhari mentioned part of it [the last sentence] as Mu’allaq (a broken chain from the side of the collector, i.e. al-Bukhari), Ibn Hibban and al-Hakim graded it Sahih (authentic)].

    وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ – رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا- قَالَ : { كَانَتِ الْيَهُودُ تَقُولُ : إِذَا أَتَى اَلرَّجُلُ اِمْرَأَتَهُ مِنْ دُبُرِهَا فِي قُبُلِهَا , كَانَ اَلْوَلَدُ أَحْوَلَ . فَنَزَلَتْ : “نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوْا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ” [اَلْبَقَرَة : 223] } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ , وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِمٍ 1 . 1 – صحيح . رواه البخاري ( 4528 ) ، ومسلم ( 1435 ) ( 117 ).

    Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah (RA): The Jews used to say, “When a man has intercourse with his wife through the vagina, but from her back side, the child will be squint-eyed.” Then, the Verse came down: “Your wives are a tilth to you, so come to your tilth however you wish [2:223].” [Agreed upon; the wording is Muslim’s].
